Penny joined Marts & Lundy in 1995 after serving the non-profit sector for 17 years in a variety of capacities, including: associate director of planning and development at Duke University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center; director of development at the University of Georgia; director of corporate and foundation relations at Emory University; annual fund coordinator at the Atlanta Symphony; and assistant director of development at Case Western Reserve University. She has also served on the AFP Board and its Foundation Board for 15 years and is actively involved in CASE.

Penny's work for the firm has included feasibility studies, development operations audits, and annual and capital campaign counsel. She has also teamed with other Marts & Lundy consultants to develop several survey projects for establishing baselines and best practices within the healthcare fund-raising arena.
